Azerbaijan, Baku, 24 November / Trend , corr. E.Ismayilov / Chernomortekhflot and Georgian Sea Administration will sign a contract until 1 December to lift up the Skadovsk ship from the deep water of the Black Sea. The ship sank near the oil terminal, which belongs to the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR), in the Georgian port of Kulevi.
Skadovsk, which is owned by Chernomortekhflot, carried out works to deepen sea depths for large-capacity vessels.
"The ship is panned to lift up as soon as the sides will sign the contract. Earlier, the ship was planned to cut and to lift up in parts.
The diesel and lubricating oil was pumped from the ship. Totally, there were 25,000-30,000 tons of fuels and five tons of oil on the board. Pumping is being carried out by Ukrainian, Azerbaijani and Georgian specialists.
The ship turned over on 3 October at 5.00am, Georgian time, as a result of a storm (6-7 points). On 30 September, the vessel was beached and got a hole. Specialists from Ukraine arrived and decided to get the ship off through haulage. The ship turned over during the haulage.
The bodies of the captain and crewman were found as a result of the operation. The body of another seaman has not been found so far. Perhaps, seaman's body will be found after the ship is cut. Totally three men died. A total of 28 out of 31 people abroad were rescued.
