Azerbaijan, Baku, June 5 / Trend , E.Ismayilov/
According to the program of drilling operations in Azerbaijan, it is planned to drill 116,000 meters worth 1.5 billion manat from several prospective structures in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea by 2015, the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic (SOCAR). During this period, it is planned to drill 20 exploration wells together with foreign companies.
Overall this year, SOCAR plans to drill 12,900 meters, in particular at the Bulla-Deniz gas condensate and promising Umid unit. The realization of drilling operations will cost 120 million manat. Moreover, in 2009, it is planned to drill the first exploration well in the perspective Absheron gas block, which is also located in the Azerbaijani sector of the Caspian Sea. The volume of the planned drilling on this unit for the year is 6,500 meters, which will cost 100 million manat.
According to official data, in 2010, it is planned to launch drilling operations in the perspective offshore Babak unit. The total amount of drilling planned for 2010 is 19,500 meters which will cost 240 million manat. Furthermore, it is planned to continue drilling operations in the Umid and Absheron units in 2010.
In 2011, it is plans to start exploration drilling in the promising offshore Karabakh unit. Exploratory drilling will continue in the Babak and Umid units in the same year. The total amount of drilling, planned for 2011 will be 17,000 meters. The implementation of these works will cost 230 million manat.
It is planned to launch exploratory drilling in the promising offshore Ashrafi unit in 2012. Furthermore, it is planned to resume drilling operations in the Absheron unit in 2012. Exploratory drilling will continue in the Babak unit in 2012, as well.
In 2013, it is planed to start exploration drilling in two promising units - Nakchivan and Dan Ulduzu. Drilling will continue in the Karabakh unit in the same year, as well. Totally, 15,000 meters will be drilled in 2013 and it will cost 200 million manat.
In 2014, plans to start exploratory drilling on the Zafar-Mashal structure, as well as restoring the work on the structure of Ashrafieh. At this year's planned exploratory drilling in the amount of 10.5 thousand meters in the total amount of 150 million manat.
Drilling operations will continue in the Ashraf, Zafar-Mashal and Nakhchivan units in 2015. In total, this year's drilling operations will cost 230 million manat and 17,500 meters will be drilled.
Reserves in perspective units are assessed: Umid - 200 billion cubic meters of gas and 30 million tons of condensate, Babak - 300 billion cubic meters of gas and 45 million tons of condensate, Absheron - 300 billion cubic meters of gas and 45 million tons of condensate, Zafar Mashal - 300 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate and Nakhchivan - 300 billion cubic meters of gas and 40 million tons of condensate. According to preliminary estimates, reserves of these units are assessed at 1.4 trillion cubic meters of gas and 200 million tons of gas condensate.
