Italian biggest energy company Eni announced about rationally of operations by creating three new unions, as well as plans of several non-operating assets sale by late 2009, Energy Intelligence Group said.
Italian assets including 44 mountain pipe-bends will be divided into three groups depending on their geographic location. Eacj of them will be transformed in separate new company controlled by Eni. The forts of them will be located in the north of Italy, the second one in the center but the third one in the south.
Companies having assets in northern and central parts of Italy insignificant for its strategy can be sold with time, Eni said.
Several potential Italian and international buyers show interest in assets, Eni said. Operations are expected be completed by late 2009.
