Today, KazTransGas "(subsidiary of "KazMunayGas") and BG Kazakhstan Company signed a cooperation agreement to implement a pilot project on transfer of motor transport of Almaty to compressed natural gas, the press service of KazTransGas reported.
"The agreement envisages installing an equipment network of gas filling compressor stations, which give an opportunity to use compressed natural gas as car fuel in order to improve the air in in Almaty, said the press release.
"In the initial phase, BG Kazakhstan will provide two sets of compressor equipment for KazTransGas.
Almaty adopted a comprehensive program to reduce pollution of the city environment in 2009-2018. "This project envisages transferring some vehicles, especially buses and public transport, to work on compressed natural gas.
