About 230,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil products were sold in the Georgian market in January-August compared to more than 256,000 tons in January-August last year, a source at SOCAR Energy Georgia told Trend.

This company represents SOCAR's interests in Georgia.

He said that according to the plans, SOCAR plans to sell 450,000-460,000 tons of petroleum products in the Georgian market.

SOCAR sold 442,000 tons of Azerbaijani oil products in 2010 compared to 406,000 tons in 2009.

Oil products are produced in Azerbaijan on the basis of two Baku refineries with a total capacity of 20 million tons a year. Both plants are a part of SOCAR. It annually processes about 6-7 million tons of oil from the offshore and onshore fields at its own expense.
