In April 2020, 68,500 tons of gasoline and diesel were imported to Georgia that is 18.8 percent less than in February 2020, Trend reports referring to the Union of Oil Product Importers of Georgia.
As reported, this indicator is 21.1 percent less than in March 2020 and 20.6 percent less compared with the same period of last year.
From January through April of 2020, imports of petroleum products to Georgia amounted to 312,900 tons, which 6,000 tons or is 1.9 percent less than in the same period of 2019.
In April 2020, gasoline imports amounted to 32,100 tons, which is 21.1 percent less than last year, diesel - 36,400 tons (-20,2 percent).
Russia is still the largest importer of oil products to Georgia and accounts for 31,200 tons of diesel and gasoline that is 45.5 percent of total imports.
In April 2020, import of oil products to Georgia from Azerbaijan reached 18,300 tons (26.7 percent), Romania – 7,500 tons (10.9 percent); Bulgaria - 6,100 tons (8.9 percent); Turkmenistan – 3,500 tons (5.1 percent), Greece – 1,000 tons (1.5 percent), Kazakhstan - 700 tons (1 percent), and Turkey – 100 tons (0.2 percent).
