The high standards applied by the operator of the project for the construction of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan export pipeline BP, as well as contemporary technologies applied in the construction and design of the project allow to say that this pipeline will safely and effectively serve for more than 40 years, Trend has been told in BP Azerbaijan. Such a statement was made in the company as a response to the statement of the international ecological organization Platform, which considers that Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline is threaten by the corrosion of pipes that may lead to ecological catastrophe in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Turkey.
According to the representative of Platform Mika Mino Paluello, during the construction of the pipeline in Caucasus, BP was less concerned about the conditions of keeping ecology than Alaska. In result, there is a danger of conducting Alaska events already in the territory of Georgia.
