Weighted average interest rates on loans in Georgian banking system up

The weighted average interest rates on loans in the banking system of Georgia in August this year increased by 0.3 percentage points year-on-year and amounted to 12.6 percent, Trend reports via the National Bank of Georgia.

According to the document, the weighted average annual interest rate on loans in foreign currency increased by 0.2 percentage points to 6.8 percent.

Loans in national currency decreased by 0.1 percentage points to 15.6 percent. The interest rate on loans in national currency for individuals increased by 0.2 percentage points to 18.5 percent, and the interest rate on loans to legal entities amounted to 11.7 percent.

In the case of foreign currency, interest rates on loans to legal entities increased by 0.2 percentage points to 6.9 percent, and for individuals they increased by 0.2 percentage points to 6.5 percent.

Compared to August of last year, interest rates on loans in foreign currency decreased by 3 percentage points, and on loans in national currency increased by 1.3 percentage points.
