Large-amount loans issued in Iran's services sector

Iranian banks issued loans worth 1.18 quadrillion rials (about $28.2 billion) in the services sector during the first two months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2021), Trend reports citing the statistics of Central Bank of Iran (CBI).

According to the statistics, 103 trillion rials (about $2.45 billion) worth of loans were issued for the establishment of enterprises and facilities in the services sector of Iran over the reporting period.

“Moreover, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 909 trillion rials (about $21.6 billion) as working capital in the services sector within the two months,” the statistics said.

At the same time, the loans worth 7.43 trillion rials (about $177 million) were issued for repair work and 99 trillion rials (about $2.36 billion) for development in the services sector, the statistics said.

According to the statistics, the Iranian banks issued loans worth 4.13 trillion rials (about $98.5 million) for the purchase of personal assets, 6.46 trillion rials (about $153 million) for the purchase of housing, and 57.4 trillion rials (about $1.36 billion) for the other purposes in the services sector.

As reported, the Iranian banks issued loans worth about 2.74 quadrillion rials (about $65.2 billion) in various economic sectors in the first two months of the current Iranian year. This an increase of 46.6 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year.
