Azerbaijan, Baku / Trend corr. S.Babayeva / The Azerbaijani Government will allocate AZN 8mln within the framework of the universal services and expand of postal networks of the Azerpocht enterprise in 2008, Novruz Mammadov, the head of the postal sector of the Azerbaijani Communication and Information Technology Ministry, said on 9 October. The total fee of the project is $11mln.
Some AZN 1.5mln was allocated in 2007.
The goal of the project is to expand networks of the enterprise, open of new post departments and creation of postal agencies, construction of new buildings, and restoration of auto transport parks.
Azerpocht includes 74 post branches and post junctions, 1,513 post offices and 144 post agencies. Incomes of the enterprise increased by AZN 1,237,000 within the 1st 9 months of 2007.
