Azerbaijani state operator's internatonal trafficking reaches 3 Gbite per second

The volume of international traffic in the Baku Telephone Communication Production Association of the Azerbaijani Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies has reached 3 Gbite per second, Beytulla Huseynov, Baku Telephone Communication Director General, said.

According to Huseyov, the figure was 20 Mbite per second in 2005, 60 Mbite per second in 2006, 155 Mbite per second in 2008. The network's inner discharge capacity will attain 10 Gbite per second by the end of 2011.

Active users of broadband internet of Baku telephone communication number 81,000, or 15 percent more than total number of operator's capacity. The connections will reach 100,000 by the end of the year.

"Profits from the broadband network services amounted to 2 million mantas in 2010. By the end of 2011, the figure is forecasted to reach 10 million manat," Huseynov said.

So far, 200,000 of the total number capacity of 700,000 numbers were transferred to NGN (Next Generation Network). The figure is expected to expected to exceed 400,000 by the late this year, Huseynov said

The Baku Telephone Communication is reconstructing ATE 494/495/438/498. Full transition of the network to electronic system will complete in February.

According to the Ministry of Communication and Information Technologies, 9.4 million manat has been invested in reconstructing and expanding the Baku Telephone Communication's network in 2010. it enabled to expand the operator's number capacity by 79,824 pieces.
