Information security remains unresolved in Azerbaijan

The issue of information security of regular users and private sector remains unresolved in Azerbaijan, the chairman of the Internet Community of Azerbaijan Osman Gunduz told Trend on Thursday.

"Unlike state agencies, where special attention is paid to establishing effective information security systems, it is still unknown how this issue will be resolved in the private sector," said Gunduz.
However, he said after joining the Council of Europe's Convention on Cybercrime, a great work has been done in the country.

"Among the positive steps in this regard, it is possible to mention the establishment of appropriate structures in the country to combat the adverse incidents in kyber sphere , to conduct infrastructure activities and work on adaptation of legislation in accordance with the Convention, as well as training in this regard," said Gunduz.

However, problems still exist in this sphere.

"It is important to conduct enlightenment work in order to make the civil society aware of how undesirable consequences can result in lack of protection in kybe sphere," said Gunduz.
