Azerbaijani scientists are carrying out scientific research on the development of aluminum ore mining technology, a source familiar with the situation told Trend.
The research work on the Almid project is being conducted in the High-Tech Park of Azerbaijan’s National Academy of Sciences.
“The raw material from aluminum, as is known, is supplied to Azerbaijan from abroad,” the source said. “Azerbaijan has Zeylik alunite deposit located in the Dashkesan district, but there is no aluminum mining technology. We believe that we will be able to get a positive result by the end of the year and test the technology of aluminum production. For now, all our resources are concentrated on its development.”
It is also planned to build a plant for the production of aluminum in the Dashkesan district by the end of this year, according to the source.
