Iran discloses volume of goods exported via Sistan and Baluchestan Province

As many as 705,000 tons of goods were exported from the Sistan and Baluchestan Province (southeastern Iran) through Milak and Mirjaveh border checkpoints during the first seven months of the current Iranian year (March 20-October 21, 2020), the Director General for Road Maintenance and Transportation Department of Sistan and Baluchestan Province Ayyoub Kord said, Trend reports citing Ministry of Roads and Urban Development of Iran.

The director general stressed that these goods were exported by 29,800 trucks.

Kord added that about 428,000 tons of these goods were exported via the Milak border checkpoint, and 277,000 tons via the Mirjaveh border checkpoint.

“The exported goods were mainly food products, cement, fuel, liquefied gas, bitumen, chemicals and etc.,” he said.

According to the director general, 125,804 people crossed from the Milak and Mirjaveh border checkpoints during 7 months.

In addition, 328,000 tons of goods were transited through these border checkpoints within the same period. At the same time, 39,800 tons of goods were imported via these checkpoints in seven months, Kord noted.

Iran's Mirjaveh border checkpoint is located on the border with Pakistan, and the Milak border checkpoint - on the border with Afghanistan.
