The volume of cargo transported through the Yazd Shahid Sadoogi International Airport in the Yazd Province (central Iran) increased by 35 percent, during the first six months of the current Iranian year (March 21 through September 22, 2021), compared to the same period last Iranian year, as was reflected in the statistics of Iran Airports and Air Navigation Company (IAC), Trend reports.
According to the statistics, 1,380 tons of cargo were transported through Yazd Shahid Sadoogi International Airport in 6 months. Meanwhile, in the same period last Iranian year, 1,020 tons of cargo had been transported through via the airport.
“In addition, 202,721 passengers were transported through this airport over the reporting period. Passenger transportation increased by 14 percent, compared to the same period last Iranian year. So, the figure amounted to 178,353 in the same period last Iranian year,” the statistics said.
Yazd Shahid Sadoogi International Airport received a total of 3,018 passenger planes within six months, which is 35 percent more than in the same period last Iranian year. Thus, the figure stood at 2,232 in the same period last Iranian year.
Reportedly, Iran's Yazd Shahid Sadoogi International Airport is located on an area of 575 hectares.
