Kazakhstan is world leader in supplies of uranium, flour, wheat

Today Kazakhstan is a world leader in uranium, flour and wheat supplies, Deputy Minister of Investment and Development Timur Toktabayev said at a roundtable meeting in the Senate.

He noted that in January-July 2017, the export of processed goods amounted to $8.7 billion, which is 26.7 percent more compared to the same period of 2016.

“Today Kazakhstan is among 52 largest exporting countries,” Toktabayev said in his report. "In total, we export over 800 manufacturing products to 115 countries. Qualitative structure of our exports significantly improved. A third of the products delivered abroad accounts for the non-oil sector of the economy.”

Data of the Kazakh Statistics Committee reads that the country’s grain exports exceeded 5.45 million tons in 2016.

Kazakhstan exported 2,197,100 tons of flour in 2016, which is 26.1 percent more than in 2015.

In 1H17, the country's foreign trade turnover reached $36.72 billion, which is 30.5 percent more than in 2016.

In particular, exports amounted to $23.1 billion, while imports amounted to $13.6 billion in 1H17.
