Kazakhstan’s trade with the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union has amounted to $15.8 billion from January through August 2021, which is 25.1 percent more than during the same period in 2020, when it equaled $12.6 billion), Trend reports citing Kazakhstan’s Statistics Committee.
Kazakhstan’s largest trade partner among the countries of the EAEU was Russia during the reporting period. The volume of bilateral trade between these two countries amounted to $14.7 billion, which is 26.5 percent more than during the same period last year.
Kazakhstan’s export to Russia stood at $4.4 billion, which is 42.4 percent more than $3.1 billion during the same period in 2020. Kazakhstan’s import from Russia was $10.3 billion, which indicates a 20.7 percent increase compared to $8.5 billion in 8M2020.
Kazakhstan’s trade with Kyrgyzstan increased from $554.1 million over 8M2020 to $557.6 million over the same period of 2021. Kazakhstan’s export to Kyrgyzstan was $384.7 million over the reporting period of 2021, increasing from $371.5 million over 8M2020. Import volume was $192.8 million, which is compared to $182.5 million over 8M2020.
Trade with Belarus stood at $531.1 million, which is 15.2 percent more than $461.05 million from January through August 2020. Export stood at $59.9 million ($51.5 million over 8M2020), whereas import was $471.2 million ($409.4 million over 8M2020).
Kazakhstan’s trade with Armenia amounted to $10.3 million over the reporting period of 2021, up from $7.9 million over 8M2020. Kazakhstan’s export to Armenia was $4.7 million ($3.6 million over 8M2020), and import was $5.5 million ($4.3 million over 8M2020).
Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover amounted to $62.8 billion over the period from January through August 2021, which indicates an increase of 10 percent as compared to $57.09 billion during the same period last year.
