BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 20. Kazakh crude oil production held steady at 1.68 million barrels per days in December 2022, Trend reports via the latest oil market update from the International Energy Agency (IEA).
According to the report, crude output in 2022 averaged at 1.5 million barrels per day, which is a decrease of 20,000 barrels per day in year-on-year terms. The Agency’s report attributes the decrease in output to unplanned outages and prolonged maintenance at some oil fields.
The IEA expects the oil output to increase by 110,000 barrels per day in 2023, as Chevron-operated Tengiz future growth project (FGP-WPMP) continues to ramp up.
Additionally, Kazakhstan will export around 300,000 tons of oil (25,000 barrels per day), to Germany via the 'Druzhba' pipeline in 1Q23.
Earlier, Kazakhstan’s KazTransOil revealed that the transit of oil will be carried out The transit will be carried out via “Transneft” JSC main oil pipelines in the direction of 'Adamova Zastava' delivery point. The transit of oil will be carried out within the framework of the relevant agreement between the Governments of Kazakhstan and Russia.
