BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 25. Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2022 significantly increased wheat imports from Russia, Trend reports with reference to the National Statistical Committee of Kyrgyzstan.
According to statistics, Russian wheat exports to Kyrgyzstan in the first half of this year amounted to $12.9 million, which is almost 2.9 times more than in the same period of 2021 ($4.5 million).
The volume of Russian exports of wheat to Kyrgyzstan in this period amounted to 58,147 tons, which is almost a threefold increase compared to the corresponding period of last year (20,408 tons).
In addition, Kyrgyzstan from January through June 2022 imported wheat flour from Russia in the amount of $2.1 million.
Meanwhile, the value of Kyrgyzstan's imported products from Russia reached $1 billion, which is an increase of 19.7 percent compared to the same period of 2021 ($835.1 million).
