BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, October 7. There was a significant surge in the exports of natural grape wine from Kyrgyzstan from January through July 2023, Trend reports.

Data from the State Statistical Committee of the country reveals that Kyrgyzstan exported 15,669 liters of natural grape wine during this reporting period, which represents a 6.5-fold increase compared to the same period in 2022. The value of wine exports skyrocketed 11 times year-on-year, reaching $86,000.

This substantial boost in exports, as indicated by official statistics, is primarily attributed to supplies to China, which were absent in the same period the previous year. In 2023, Kyrgyzstan exported 13,230 liters of wine to China, generating $30,900 in revenue.

Furthermore, 1,045 liters valued at $17,900 were exported to Russia, 1,108 liters worth $5,000 went to Kazakhstan, and 286 liters valued at $32,300 found their way to other countries.

Kyrgyzstan's foreign trade turnover amounted to $8.153 billion from January through July 2023, which is an increase of 32.3 percent compared to the same months in 2022.

Exports amounted to $1.602 billion, increasing by 45.6 percent compared to the corresponding months of 2022. Imports rose by 29.4 percent year-on-year, totaling $6.551 billion.
