BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, February 21. A total of 2,260 ATMs operated in Kyrgyzstan, as of December 31, 2023, Trend reports.
Data from Kyrgyzstan’s National Bank discloses that the figure increased by 10.7 percent or 219 units compared to the 2,041 ATMs at the end of 2022.
The number of POS terminals in the country reached 23,009 at the reporting date, which is a 41.6 percent or 6,757 units increase compared to the same period in 2022 (16,252 POS terminals).
By December 31, 2023, the count of payment terminals in Kyrgyzstan totaled 2,775 units. This marks a 17.8 percent increase or 419 units compared to the same period in 2022.
The total number of ATMs and POS terminals serving international payment systems for transactions with bank payment cards is as follows:
International systems VISA and Mastercard: 812 ATMs and 8,341
POS terminals.
International system Zolotaya Korona: 277 ATMs and 4,436 POS
terminals.
International system UPI: 443 ATMs and 4,538 POS terminals.
The total number of bank payment cards in circulation in Kyrgyzstan exceeded 6.89 million cards as of December 31, 2023.
