A resolution was adopted on ratification of the Strategic Partnership Agreement between Turkmenistan and Russia during the next meeting of Turkmenistan’s parliament, the Turkmen government said in a message Nov. 27.
About 190 companies with Russian capital operate in Turkmenistan.
Under a production sharing agreement (PSA), the Areti International Group has been conducting work in the Turkmen section of the Caspian Sea since 2009.
Meanwhile, Russia’s Gazprom PJSC, a traditional trade partner, completely stopped the purchase of Turkmen gas in 2016.
The agreement on strategic partnership between Turkmenistan and Russia was signed following the official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Ashgabat in early October.
