Switzerland’s export to Turkmenistan in June 2021 increased compared to January 2021 and amounted to $841,671 ($204,295 in January 2021), Trend reports with reference to Swiss Impex (Trade statistics of the Swiss Federal Customs Administration).
According to Swiss Impex, the total export of Switzerland to Turkmenistan during the first half of 2021 amounted to more than $3 million.
It is noted, Switzerland during the reporting period exported to Turkmenistan mainly leather, rubber, plastics, products of the chemical and pharmaceutical industry, metals, machines, appliances, electronics.
In particular, the volume of leather, rubber, plastics goods imported by Turkmenistan from this country in value terms amounted to $27,035 million, while in physical terms it amounted to 52 kilograms.
Also, more than 63 tons of products of the chemical and pharmaceutical industry were exported from Switzerland to Turkmenistan during 1H2021 worth $552,163.
In addition, the volume of Swiss metals exported to Turkmenistan reached 159 kilograms for $19,345.
Moreover, Turkmenistan during the reporting period imported from Switzerland 7,847 tons of machines, appliances, and electronics worth more than $1 million.
According to Swiss State Secretariat for Economic Affairs (SECO), Turkmenistan is a valued member of Swiss group at the World Bank.
SECO Economic Cooperation and Development division supports the Central Asian Water and Energy Program (CAWEP), implemented by the World Bank. CAWEP’s objective is to strengthen the enabling environment to promote water and energy security at regional level and in the beneficiary countries in Central Asia.
It was reported that CAWEP cooperates with Turkmenistan, for instance in the frame of an activity to strengthen service delivery of Central Asian national hydrometeorological agencies. In this context, CAWEP assists national hydrometeorological agencies to better deliver useful and demand-driven information services to key sectors.
