BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 18. Turkmenistan proposes to start exporting Turkmen electricity through Iran's energy system to third countries, Trend reports via Business Turkmenistan news agency.
This issue was discussed in Tehran, Iran during talks between President of Turkmenistan Serdar Berdimuhamedov and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi with the participation of government delegations.
During the negotiations, it was announced that the Iranian section of the Mary-Mashhad high-voltage power transmission line was completed and ready for operation. The Turkmen side stated that the energy industry is currently considering the issue of starting construction of the Turkmen part of this system in the near future.
Highly appreciating the Turkmen-Iranian agreements reached on swap gas supplies, the parties invited the specialized organizations of the two countries to explore the possibility of swap gas exports to third countries.
