BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 8. The volume of all loans issued by private banks of Uzbekistan from January through June 2022 increased by 39 percent compared to the same period the previous year, Trend reports citing the Uzbek Central Bank.

This figure in the corresponding period amounted to 54.6 trillion soums ($4.9 billion), and from January through June 2021 amounted to 39.3 trillion soums ($3.6 billion).

The volume of loans of the banks with a state share from January through June 2022 amounted to 288.9 trillion soums ($26.3 billion), which is an increase of 10.6 percent compared to the same period of 2021 (261.2 trillion soums or $23.7 billion).

From January through June 2022, the volume of loans of the banks with a state share in Uzbekistan exceeded the volume of loans of private banks by 5.5 times, which amounted to 234.3 trillion soums ($21.3 billion).

The total volume of all loans issued by banks of Uzbekistan amounted to 343.6 trillion soums ($31.2 billion) from January through June 2022.
