Iran will independently produce nuclear fuel in early 2011 (new year in Iran begins in March), IRINN TV channel's website quoted Iran's Atomic Energy Organization head Ali Akbar Salehi.
Salehi said nuclear fuel will be placed on Amirabad reactor after certain tests next summer.
Salehi stressed that besides Amirabad reactor, it is planned to build four more reactors.
The Amirabad reactor was built 45 years ago with U.S. support, and nuclear fuel was received from Argentina for it for the last time in 1990s.
Iran, Turkey and Brazil signed an agreement on exchange of 1200 kg of low enriched uranium for higher enriched uranium in territory of Turkey May 17. Iran can ship its low enriched uranium to Turkey in a month after signing the relevant agreement between Tehran and International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA\).
