Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki has held separate meetings with senior officials on the sidelines of the Manama Dialogue, PressTV reported.

Mottaki met with his counterparts from Jordan, Yemen, and Turkey as well as Bahrain's crown prince on Saturday before he departed the Bahraini capital for Tehran.

In his meeting with Bahraini Crown Prince Salman ibn Hamad ibn Isa Al Khalifa, Mottaki said that such talks would help the stability and security of the Persian Gulf states.

The Bahraini crown prince also called for further collaboration with the Islamic Republic and said deeper mutual ties will benefit both nations.

"Iran and Bahrain are two neighboring and close countries in the region and the relations (between the two countries) should be in their best possible forms," Al Khalifa noted.

Mottaki also held a meeting with Jordanian Foreign Minister Nasser Judeh who lauded Iran's role in regional and international issues and described Iran as a regional powerhouse.

Judeh further voiced his country's support for Iran's right for peaceful nuclear technology, saying that "we believe that the only way for settling disputes over Tehran's nuclear program is diplomacy and dialogue."

The Jordanian foreign minister officially invited Mottaki to visit his country.

Mottaki also proposed the formation of a consulting political committee with the aim of increasing bilateral relations.

In his meeting with Yemeni Foreign Minister Abu Bakr al-Qirbi, the Iranian official appreciated the prudent measures taken by the Yemeni government to resolve civil clashes and expressed hope that the current approach would help Yemen accomplish its goals.

Earlier on Friday night, Mottaki met with his Turkish counterpart Ahmet Davutoglu and stressed the need to find ways to expand bilateral ties.

The two discussed the latest regional developments and called for the expansion of collaboration between the two neighboring countries.

Mottaki also met with members of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies (IISS) which organizes the conference annually.

The conference is to address some of the key challenges facing the Middle East, including the future of Yemen, Iraq, and the role of foreign powers in regional conflicts.

The 2010 Manama Security Dialogue opened on December 3 and runs until December 5.

Experts and representatives from Egypt, Iran, Iraq, Jordan, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Australia, Britain, France, India, Japan, Russia, the United States, and Turkey as well as the United Nations and NATO are attending the conference.

Mottaki travelled to Bahrain on Friday morning to attend the event at the city's Ritz-Carlton Bahrain Hotel.

He arrived in Tehran late on Saturday night and is scheduled to leave Tehran for Athens on Monday to discuss bilateral ties and cooperation with senior Greek officials.
