Import of products to Iran's Bushehr Province increased

BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 5. During the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (March 20–May 20, 2024), the import of non-oil products to Bushehr province, located in the south of Iran, increased by 34 percent in terms of value and 60 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year (March 21–May 21, 2023), Ali Soleimani, the customs supervisor of Iran's Bushehr Province said, Trend reports.

According to him, 120,000 tons of products worth about 352 million dollars were imported to Bushehr Province in 2 months.

Soleimani said that various types of fabric, passenger cars and spare parts, equipment and spare parts, bananas, etc. were imported to Bushehr province during the mentioned period.

The customs official said that the products are mainly imported from the UAE, China, Philippines, India, Sri Lanka, Japan, Turkey, Singapore, and others.

He said that in 2 months, the income of the provincial customs amounted to 25 trillion rials (about 67.4 million dollars). This shows a 78 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to the statistics of the Iranian Customs Administration, 5.84 million tons of products worth about 9.08 billion dollars were imported to Iran within 2 months. Imports of non-oil products to Iran increased by 9.19 percent in terms of value and 13.3 percent in terms of weight compared to the same period last year.
