Trend:

There are 350 imported vehicles that are unlicensed since 2018, said Deputy Head of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA).

There are imported autos with a temporary permit that require to determine the customs duties after the end of the temporary permit, so far 350 vehicles have been reported to the Tazirat Organization for punishment for the crime of smuggling, said Mehrdad Jamal Arvanghi, Trend reports citing YJC.

"These imported autos include 160 Benz, 40 BMW, 40 Lexus, 25 Toyota Land Cruisers, and other brands that reported for smuggling to the relevant authority," he said.

Any Iranian citizen that has residency in a foreign country could temporarily import a vehicle and return it to the original country after the deadline based on customs law.

The temporary auto entrance has two conditions, first is in form of tourism that should be approved via Touring and Automobile Club of Iran and the second condition is that the auto owner would be providing insurance and banking guarantee to receive a permit to import. Imported auto has a temporary permit for three months that could be extended for one year but after the deadline, the customs warehouse should issue a receipt and customs deliver the commodity

The studies from 2018 until May 2021 indicate 330 vehicles have imported by a temporary permit that their deadline has not finished yet but there are 360 imported vehicles in customs and ports that need to pay the customs fee.
