Head of the Trade Promotion Organization of Iran Hamid Zadboum said that the share import of intermediate goods was 70.9 percent of the total imports during the last two months, Trend reports via ILNA.
A study of the imports of various items during the last two months shows that along with the abovementioned, consumer goods accounted for 15.2 percent, capital goods fro 13.8 percent of the total imports.
“The statistics data shows that the country's imports during the two months of the current Iranian year (started on March 21) reached 5 million tons and was worth $6.5 billion, which decreased by 16.5 percent in terms of weight and increased by 29.5 percent in terms of value, compared to the previous year,” he said.
He added that the import of goods in May has reached 3.3 million tons, worth $3.7 billion.
“The five major importing countries, including the United Arab Emirates with a value of $1.843 billion and a share of 28.2 percent of total imports, China with $1.488 billion and a share of 22.8 percent, Turkey with $642 million and a share of 9.8 percent, Germany with $ 285 million and share 4.4 percent and Switzerland with $ 283 million and share 4.3 percent,” he said.
The average price per ton of imported goods is $1,217, which is an increase of 55 percent compared to the previous year,” he said.
