The issue of monitoring the border between Georgia and Russia has not yet been resolved, Georgian Foreign Minister Maia Panjikidze said.

"Suggestions and comments from the Georgian side have already been sent to the Swiss company which will monitor the border with Russia, however no final decisions on the matter have been made," Panjikidze told reporters in Tbilisi on Monday.

The SGS Company, chosen by mediating Switzerland, will control freight traffic through the Georgian-Russian border. This is a condition set by Georgia that needs to be met in order for it to consent to Russia's membership in the World Trade Organization.

The Swiss company will conduct monitoring at the customs posts Psou, Lars and Roki.

Military action was launched in the Georgian region of South Ossetia on Aug.8, 2008. Later Russian troops occupied the city of Tskhinvali and drove the Georgian military back. Russia recognised the independence of Abkhazia and South Ossetia in late August
