Georgia will not extradite MP Givi Targamadze, whom Moscow accuses of organizing the opposition rally on Bolotnaya Square this summer, to Russia. The country's constitution prohibits the extradition of own citizens to other countries, General Prosecutor's office of Georgia told Trend.

"Based on this it is impossible to extradite Targamadze to Russia in the event of a request of the Russian side," the press service said.

Investigation against Targamadze can only be carried out within the country in the case of the request. Usually such requests takes three weeks, the press service said, noting that there was no request from the Russian side.

The official representative of the Russian Investigative Committee Vladimir Markin said on Thursday that the investigation has evidence that confirms not only funding of Russian opposition by Targamadze, but also "his specific role in the organization of mass riots in the Bolotnaya Square, as well as his direct guidance of actions of opposition leaders carrying the March of millions in Moscow."

Markin noted that the Investigative Committee will soon send request to Georgia for assistance in the investigation of the preparation of the riots in Russia.
