Georgian Prime Minister Bidzina Ivanishvili appreciates Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement regarding Georgia that he made last week, Ivanishvili said at a press briefing in Tbilisi on Monday.
The Russian president did not rule out the possibility of his meeting with Prime Minister of Georgia Bidzina Ivanishvili, stressing that such a meeting should be well prepared.
"It inspires certain, cautious optimism in our relations," Ivanishvili said.
He said that Georgia intends to "patiently" expect improvement in Georgian-Russian relations and "persistently go forward" on this path.
"We have appointed our special representative," he said. However, Ivanishvili does not suggest "a quick result".
Ivanishvili particularly welcomed the statement on making a political decision on return of Georgian products to Russia.
"It is very important for us and indicates a positive change," he said.
