Georgia, Tbilisi, Feb.7 / Trend, N. Kirtskhalia /
Legal process on the latest charge against former Defense Minister Irakli Okruashvili - neglect of an official duty, will end on Thursday.
According to his lawyer, Zviad Kordzadze, the defense suggests that at the trial, scheduled for Feb.7, public prosecution will drop the charge, otherwise, lawyers will require acquittal.
The evidence, in particular, the cartridges which, according to the investigation, are unusable and which Okruashvili purchased for the state, has been examined at a military base in Uplistsikhe.
"I cannot say anything about the evidence, as it is a state secret, but there is no evidence against Okruashvili on this charge and we expect that the public prosecution will drop the charge," Okruashvili said.
