The deputy head of Lithuania's customs administration Algis Cibulskas arrived in Georgia.
Cibulskas met with the head of the Georgian income service Irakli Gvaramadze. The visit is paid as part of a project entitled "Technical assistance in Georgia's customs in the field of customs value and recheck" initiated by Lithuania's government.
The sides discussed the implementation of the project and aspects of long-term cooperation, the Georgian finance ministry told Trend Oct. 8.
The Georgian side conducts various activities in the customs area to converge to the European standards in the process of economic integration with the EU. In this regard, it is important to review Lithuania's experience in connection with commodity codes, customs value, the general transit convention, the institute of authorized economic operator and other issues.
Gvaramadze thanked the guests for the invitation of Georgian customs officers to visit Lithuania and review the experience of the customs administration, as well as the economic training carried out by Lithuanian experts in Batumi.
The Lithuanian delegation's visit will end on October 11.
