By Maryana Akhmedova – Trend:

Georgia is among the leading EUROCONTROL member states in terms of air traffic restoration dynamics, Trend reports via Georgian media.

The European Organization for the Safety of Air Navigation has published new data on flights in European airspace, according to which, Georgia's existing air traffic figures are 3 percent higher than over the same period of 2019, as of November 4, 2021.

According to the agency, the increase in the number of take-offs is observed in only four countries: Bosnia and Herzegovina, Albania, Armenia and Georgia.

“In active cooperation with the private sector, our aim is to increase the frequency of flights and bring already operating airlines and also introduce new ones. International organizations also cite Georgia as a successful example,” Mariam Kvrivishvili, Deputy Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development said.

According to EUROCONTROL, with the mentioned dynamics of flight resumption, Georgia is ahead of 37 member states, including Spain, France, Italy, Germany, Greece, and Turkey.
