Juventus close to Champions League berth after win on Parma
( dpa ) - Juventus beat struggling visitors Parma 3-0 Wednesday in a Serie A game called off in March for the death of a Parma fan on his way to Turin's stadium.
Frenchman David Trezeguet and Raffaele Palladino scored first-half goals followed by an own goal to confirm Juve's third place that virtually grants them one of four Champions League berths with five games left.
The Turin side have a wide 11-point gap from leaders Inter Milan, but hold a 12-point lead over fifth-placed AC Milan, whom they beat 3-2 at the weekend.
Parma remained rooted in fourth-from-last position, just one point above the three-team relegation zone.
