A strong earthquake of 6.0 magnitude shook the northern mid-Atlantic Ridge on Saturday, the U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) said, according to Xinhua.
According to a report posted by the USGS on its website, the tremor, which occurred at 2033 GMT, was epicentered some 1,340 miles (2,160 km) east-northeast of San Juan, Puerto Rico at a depth of 6.2 miles (10 kilometers).
The USGS, which monitored the quake, did not indicate any necessity of issuing a tsunami warning.
