Saudi Arabia's Health Ministry has announced two new swine flu deaths, taking the death toll from the pandemic to 11 in the country, reported PressTV.
According to Xinhua news agency, the first case was a 30-year-old Saudi citizen who had been hospitalized since March 2006, after a car crash. His health condition deteriorated rapidly after contracting the A/H1N1 virus.
The second swine flu case was a Saudi citizen, 48, who was suffering from diabetes and heart problems.
The ministry also affirmed that the A/H1N1 death rate in Saudi Arabia is still within international average and that most cases recovered rapidly when they received treatment at home.
The swine flu fatality rate is on the increase while hundreds of thousands of Muslims from around the world are expected to undertake the Umrah Hajj pilgrimage during the fasting month of Ramadan which starts later in August.
Aiming to prevent the rapid spread of the deadly virus in the country, Iranian authorities previously banned this year's Umrah Hajj pilgrimage in the holy month of Ramadan (Aug. 22-Sept. 19).
Latest figures released by the World Health Organization (WHO) on Tuesday showed that the new A/H1N1 virus has infected some 177,457 individuals and claimed the lives of some 1,462 others worldwide.
