Turkish exports of leather goods to Morocco drops

The export of leather goods from Turkey to Morocco dropped by 15.8 percent from January through September 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $10.1 million, the Turkish Trade Ministry told Trend.

In September 2020, Turkey's leather goods exports to Morocco declined by 6.8 percent compared to September 2019 and amounted to $1.44 million, the ministry noted.

According to the ministry, the export of leather goods from Turkey to global markets decreased by 22.7 percent from January through September 2020, compared to the same period of 2019, amounting to $988 million.

Meanwhile, the export of leather products made 0.9 percent of the country's total exports during this period.

In September 2020, Turkey exported leather goods worth over $131.3 million to international markets, which is 11.1 percent less compared to the same month of 2019, the ministry said.

At the same time, Turkey’s exports of leather products in September 2020 accounted for 0.9 percent of the country's total exports.

Over the past 12 months (from September 2019 through September 2020), Turkey exported leather goods worth over $1.37 billion abroad.
