Moldova to recall its ambassadors from several countries

Moldova recalled its ambassadors from several countries, including Azerbaijan

The government made this decision upon the proposal of Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Yuriy Lyanke, the Novosti-Moldova News reported

Permanent Moldavian representative to CE Eudjeniya Kistruqa, Moldavian Ambassador to Azerbaijan (part-time service in Georgia) Ion Roby, Valeriy Bobytzak in Belarus, Valerian Christye to Czechia, Lidia Gutzu to Bulgaria, and Viktoria Iftodi to France(part-time service in Algeria) were recalled.

The government recalled ambassadors to strengthen diplomatic corps, to enhance its professionalism in order to be more active in European integration field, the Foreign Minister underscored.

The recalled ambassadors were appointed by political criteria before. They were not initiative to advance the European integration policy, and they did not inform the FM about developments enough. Maintaining their position would be stagnation of Moldova's foreign policy, Lyanke said.
