A coal mine collapse in the province of Zonguldak in northwestern Turkey has left nine people under the rubble, according to preliminary data, the Turkish TV channel TRT Haber reported on Aug.12.
The cause for the collapse is currently being determined.
Zonguldak is also the place of one of Turkey's worst mining disasters. In 1992, an accident killed 263 people.
