Azerbaijan, Baku, 6 May / Trend corr. S.Agayeva / Nikoloz Gogitze, the Georgian Deputy Ambassador in Azerbaijan, stated to journalists that Tbilisi was concerned about Russia's actions against Georgia.
According to the Deputy Ambassador, Georgia's integration to NATO openly bothers Russia. Russia has demonstrated a negative reaction towards Georgia after the Bucharest summit. " Georgia will join NATO to provide security in the country," Gogitze stated.
Gogitze said that Georgia and Russia had been neighbours for 200 years and nobody want to leave Caucasus. The Russian Administration should re-consider its positions towards Georgia and abandon the 'big brother' syndrome. Russia must understand that Georgia is an independent state and has a right to carry out its own policy.
"In the case of open aggression by Russia, Georgia will appeal to the country-partners for support," Gogitze stated.
Georgian diplomat thanked official Baku for its position and support.
