Foreign Ministers of the Organization of the Islamic Conference to create a commission on human rights in the countries of the OIC, which will enhance mutual understanding between Islamic countries and human rights organizations that are directly related to the Islamic religion.
The decision was taken by 36th meeting of Foreign Ministers of the OIC, which began its work in Damascus on Saturday, and will continue for three days
In April, Secretary-General Ekmeleddin Ihsanoglu discussed with international experts establishing an independent commission in the field of human rights which will be monitored in the countries of the OIC at the meeting in Jeddah. The commission will consist of the Institute of Human Rights in Geneva and the representation of the OIC in the UN Office in Geneva.
The Commission will be established in order to respect human rights according to Islamic values, and demonstrate the commitment of Islam to humanity.
