UN, OSCE and the European Union speak about the necessity of continuing the Geneva discussions. Co-Chairs of the consultations, Johan Verbeke, Pierre Morel and Haralampus Hristopolus issued a joint statement on the matter.
The document emphasizes that the Geneva negotiations are the only format through which all parties to the conflict have the possibility, based on common interests to discuss important issues with a view to achieving stability and security in the Caucasus region.
Co-chairs hope that agreement achieved in previous rounds will be fulfilled, and the sixth round of talks scheduled for July 1.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Georgia will discuss details of planned meeting in Switzerland. The discussions will gather the UN mission, co-chairs of the Geneva Commission and the Georgian side. The Foreign Ministry claimed that Co-Chairs will reiterate strong support for Georgia after the events connected with the UN mission.
