The next meeting to mull the prevention of conflicts in the Caucasus under the Geneva format will be held in Dvani on Sep.1, head of the analyses department of the Georgian Interior Ministry, Shota Utiashvili, said after the third working meeting on Aug.14.
Utiashvili voiced his satisfaction with the meeting saying it is important to continue the process. The process continues and it is a major achievement, Utiashvili said. The meeting discussed the situation in the conflict zone, the frequent shootings and kidnapping of Georgians.
A definite mutual understanding has been achieved, but no concrete decision was made, Utiashvili added.
The meeting was very important. Its results can be assessed as positive, head of the EU observation mission in Georgia, Hansyorg Haber, said after the meeting. During the meeting all parties agreed upon a need to relax tensions and to establish closer contacts, he added.
The combined group of the conflicting parties should work in coordination to prevent incidents and we discussed this issue," Haber said.
