Azerbaijan and Argentina signed a memorandum of intentions on political consultations, Foreign Ministry's press service reported.
Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Elmar Mammadyarov received Deputy Foreign Minister of Argentine Alberto D'alotto.
Within the meeting, the memorandum of intentions was signed on political consultations between Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry and Ministry of Foreign Affairs, International Trade and Worship of the Argentine Republic. Deputy FM Khalaf Khalafov signed the document on the Azerbaijani side, and his counterpart D'alotto signed it on the Argentinian side.
Expressing satisfaction with his visit to Azerbaijan, the guest said that he witnessed the development process in the country. Highly appreciating opening of Azerbaijani embassy in Argentina, D'alotto noted that his country was intending to take the same step.
Touching upon wide potential for development of several spheres between Azerbaijan and Argentina, Mammadyarov noted the importance of organization of mutual visits, establishment of relations between businessmen and realization of other events.
He said that the main priority of Azerbaijan's foreign policy is to end the aggressive policy of Armenia. The minister informed the guest about negotiations process related to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict settlement. D'alotto said that Argentina supported negotiations process conducted within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group.
