Today, the Georgian parliament will ratify an agreement on a common airspace with the EU. As Parliamentary Secretary Gia Khuroshvili told journalists, the specified agreement will open European airports to airlines registered in Georgia.
Over two years, Georgia will then bring its legislation into line with European norms.
"On the one hand, this agreement will contribute to free markets, and, on the other hand, to economic development," Khuroshvili said.
As Georgian Deputy Foreign Minister Nino Kalandadze previously noted, talks on signing the agreement have been held over a long period. Tbilisi believes this step will improve the quality of services in civil aviation and airline competitiveness.
