Brazilian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Paulo Antonio Pereira Pinto will complete his diplomatic activity in the country by late 2011.

Pinto was appointed as the ambassador to Azerbaijan in June 2009 and became Brazil's first representative in the country.

Diplomatic relations between Azerbaijan and Brazil were established in 1993. Brazil opened its embassy in Baku in 2009.

"Brazil is interested in developing relations with Azerbaijan in many spheres," Pinto said earlier at an event in honor of Independence Day of Brazil. The two countries could also cooperate successfully in the agricultural sector, in environmental protection and social services. Another important sphere of cooperation can be high technologies, he said.

Pinto underscored that Brazil is one of the leading countries in the world in the production and application of high technologies and is ready to share its experiences with Azerbaijan.
