SHUSHA, Azerbaijan, June 16. The visit of 35 foreign travelers from 14 countries to Shusha city has ended, Trend reports from the scene.

During the visit, a group led by the Founder of the MTP (Most Traveled People) Organization, Charles Veley got acquainted with the ancient fortress gates of the city after being informed about the monuments of prominent Azerbaijani cultural figures Khurshudbanu Natavan, Uzeyir Hajibayov and Bulbul, which were vandalized during the city's occupation by Armenia.

Then the travelers, having visited the Jidir Duzu [plain in the southern part of Shusha], got acquainted with the reconstruction work carried out in the city.

This trip was of exceptional importance for the promotion of the territories liberated from occupation within the framework of “dark tourism".

Over the past two years, Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur have been visited seven times by representatives of international travel networks - ETIC (Extreme Traveler International Congress), MTP, TCC (Travelers' Century Club), Nomadmania, the Turkish Travelers Club, and the UK Piki Reels club. One trip was organized in 2021, four - in 2022 and two - in 2023. This trip is already the eighth in a row.

The visit of international travelers to Karabakh and Eastern Zangazur demonstrates a high interest in the large-scale construction and restoration work carried out by Azerbaijan in a short time on the lands liberated in just 44 days of the second Karabakh war.
